We always welcome new photographers and their images on our site, but we have to take reasonable steps to keep our stock collection sellable to potential buyers. Because of this not all photos submitted by our contributors are getting approved.
Some of the photos submitted to us are great-looking images that could grace any photo album or even win a photo contest. But as a stock site, we have to rather concentrate on images that sell - those are images that are likely to be needed for use in design and printing. A photo can have a great quality, sharpness and a pleasant content, but sometimes this is just not enough - and we are aimed to collect photos that may be interesting to our buyers and have a higher selling potential. Following that standpoint, some photos are likely to never be purchased because there could hardly be any business use for them even despite their quality and great look.
We do not expect you, our photographers to sort out images and decide which is sellable and which is not - this work is carried out for you by our reviewers. We researched this market for a long time, and knowing what most buyers' needs are, we try to concentrate on those requirements in order to survive and prosper on this market, because it has its own specifics, and the photo requirements are sometimes very specific too. We allow you to vary the price within a big range, which in turn passes on to our buyers, so when they come to look for stock and eventually buy your photos, they expect us to provide them with a selection of high quality imagery that is preselected for them. When a photo is getting rejected, this does not necessarily mean that it is not good enough, or that a photographer lacks his/her photographic skills. The rejection only means that this particular image is just not likely to get sold.
But at the same time it means that among your photos there are certainly those that we would be more than happy to have! So if some of your photos were rejected, this is only a welcome sign to upload more of them. Please don't take it personally - we value your work very much, and all the approval process is only meant to build a great photo stock site that would be a heaven for buyers and therefore a good revenue generator for you, our photographers.
